The Blogging Chicks Blogroll

Update: I'm back and I'm adding blogs. If you don't hear from me this week (1-8-08), email me.

The purpose of this blogroll is to promote women's blogs. Everything I require is so that we meet that goal.

This is a women's only blogroll. It is made up of a wide range of blogs covering a spectrum of interests, political affiliations and religions. This is a diverse group of women, intentionally so. There are many Christians blogs on this blogroll but it is not a Christian blogroll. Currently, (as of March 17, 2007) there are over 600 blogs on the blogroll.

There are no hate, spam, porn sites, on the blogroll. I also exclude blogs where there is an excessive use of profanity. (Yes, it is subjective, sorry!)

If you are interested in a Christian blogroll, I have one here (not as big but it's growing).

Requirement to be on the blogroll: There is only one requirement to be on the blogroll: you must display the blogroll some place on your blog where I can find it. Once a month I try to go through the blogroll and delete the blogs that aren't displaying the blogroll. (I will send you an email telling you that I've deleted it.) The reason for this requirement is that to meet our goal of promoting women's blogs on the Internet we need to link to each other. It drives up your Google rank (your blog could potentially be on the first or second page of Google's search results when someone is searching for information that is contained on your blog), your Technorati rank and your TTLB.

If you think the blogroll is too messy, you can use this tool to create a pull down menu. It displays the blogroll as one line of text. There is an example of this in the sidebar.

To join: I will send you the code to you, so that means I need your email address and your url (blog address) you can either fill out this form, leave a comment on this post, or you can email me at this address (if you can't see the graphic, change your browser settings to allow viewing of graphics):



You can also click on the graphic on the sidebar (just scroll down) and that will start your mail program.

I usually take up to a week to send the code and it can also take me a week to add your blog to the blogroll after you've emailed me. If you don't hear from me, that means your email was buried in my inbox (I have 4 blogs and 2 blogrolls), so email again or leave a comment on this post.

If you leave a comment, you must leave me your email address and url or I won't be able to send you the code.

Important message to those who use yahoo email: if I don't send you the code in an attached file, then I've committed a grave error. You should not use the code and you need to email me and let me know. When you receive the email, download the attachment to your computer, then open it and copy the code.

Important message for those on free Wordpress: (not those who pay for Wordpress): Wordpress does not allow you to use javascripts, so you can't display the blogroll. The workaround for this is to install it on another blog and then link to that blog. Here's an example of what that looks like.

It's not a requirement of the blogroll but I do recommend joining The Truth Laid Bear, it's beneficial to both you and the blogroll. It benefits you because you will increase the traffic to your blog and will be much more visible on the Internet. It's beneficial to the blogroll because bloggers will see that we have so many blog registered at TTLB that they will want to join because it will greatly increase their rank. You can join here.
